Even though I’m relying heavily on AI to build this RTS, its not as easy as “Hey ChatGPT build me a video game”.
There is so much more that goes into it.
What software stack?
How are you going to deploy it to hundreds, thousands, and ideally hundreds of thousands if not millions of players?
What distrubution channel will you partner with?
Will it be PC or Mobile?
AI Can help guide you through these decisions, but you still have to be highly technical.
How are you going to ship a Kubernetes deployment with CI/CD on Docker images in regions across the planet?
Do you deploy infrastructure on Amazon, Google or Microsoft (my favorite to be honest).
Building the machine that builds the machine, is harder than building the machine.
This advice from Elon Musk got me thinking about the “factory” of FITS.

Much to my surprise, I couldn’t just write a flat file json database or something cheap. I’m heavily relying on AI as my coder, which is great. So lets really do this right.
At the moment, I’ve got $1,000 CAD in my bank account, and am unemployed, on social assistance and my wife has cancer.
So I want to do this right enough that if I fail, it’ll be one hell of a portfolio piece to get a job somewhere.
Therefor, I needed to include model editors, map makers, database editors.
The crazy part is versioning a flat file database that’ll ship with a client, so we only have to hit our central kubernetes clusters for logins and version checks; then rely on our CDN partners to download new game assets.
I really think the infrastructure here will allow millions of people to play Forever In The Stars.
